Nova Scotia. Victoria Specimen Pattern Penny 1856 SP61 Brown NGC, Br-875, NS-6A1 var., Haxby-MSP-1a (dies SP-1+SP-A). L.C.W. (for Leonard Charles Wyon) below bust. Brilliant finish, medal alignment, bronze. Deeply toned brown, blue and orange. Verdigris spots on the neck and lower right on the reverse.
Pattern obverse (Haxby die SP-1): Long tiara (at its right end the hair does not touch jewel at the top and the band ends with a pair of pearls).
Adopted reverse (Haxby die SP-A): Upper left serif of N of TOKEN is normal (not doubled).
