Lower Canada. copper VEXATOR 1/2 Penny Token 1811 VF20 Brown NGC, Br-558, VC-2A1, Haxby dies 2+A, coinage alignment, copper, 3.90 gm.
Obverse: Medium bust with protruding tongue and large nose; the eye and ear are marked by deep incuse cuts. Three incuse lines on chest. Thick hair on head; short "fur" strands extend straight back from the shoulder.
Reverse: Date, 1811, in thick, tall figures. Four thin vertical lines are above the 11 of the date and a thin and thick line are to the right of the 11. A diagonal line from the dress strikes the top of the 8. No sign of the chair on which Britannia sits and her small feet barely show. Her left hand has a bold thumb and two faint fingers of unequal length.
