Lower Canada. VEXATOR 1/2 Penny Token 1811 F12 Brown NGC, Br-559, VC-Unl., Haxby dies 5+Unl., coinage alignment, copper. Some pitting on reverse.
Obverse: Medium bust with a large nose, but otherwise indistinct facial features. The hair on the head flows backward, resembling a coonskin hat. Six-pointed star under bust, with point at 5 O'clock broken. The legend includes ML, which appears above the forehead.
Reverse: Date, 1811, in thin, short figures. Britannia seated on a small chair, part of which is behind her dress; its back supports her left arm. Britannia has small feet showing below her dress; her left hand has two claw-like fingers.
