Pair of Blacksmith 1/2 Penny Tokens ND,
1) Fine, Br-Unl, BL-Unl, Wood-42. Copper, coinage alignment, 5.28 gm. This is more of a "British" than a "Canadian" issue.
On the lower half of the "reverse" the design is flattened and shows some incuse details (a few rim denticles, a backwards 1777 and B) resulting from being "squeezed" with an 1777-dated piece.
Ex. Warren Baker Collection, Bowers & Marena (Frederick Taylor Collection, Mar. 1987, Lot 1083). Superior to the example in the Canadian National Currency Collection.
2) VG, BL-Unl, Wood-Unl. Copper, medal alignment, 4.63 gm. Laureate head right with long nose and forehead in straight line; reverse same. A couple of planchet clips.
