Province of Canada. Bank of Montreal / City Bank Mule Penny 1837 MS63 Brown NGC, Br-Unl, PC-2A1, 16.18 gm. Copper, medal alignment. Small flan flaw at the bottom.
Haxby Group 1: The doorway has raised molding along its edge and the door has considerable internal detail, including molding and a central door knob. The die has broken, leaving an internal cud across the top 40% of the doorway. Very strong window sashes. No cracks to the A of BANK or the N of PROVINCE. Rust marks on the pavers above the K of BANK and in the field above the center of the roof.
