ATTICA. Athens. Ca. 454-404 BC. AR tetradrachm (24mm, 17.19 gm, 8h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 5/5. Mid-mass coinage issue, 440-404 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with three laurel leaves and vine scroll / ΑΘΕ, owl standing right, head facing, olive sprig and crescent moon behind, all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1597. SNG Copenhagen 32. Struck in sound metal and nicely centered on both sides, with a rather pensive-looking Athena in high relief.
