ANTONIA-AVGVSTA, draped bust of Antonia right, hair bound in long plait / TI • CLAVDIVS • CAESAR • AVG • P • M • TR • P • IMP, Claudius, veiled and togate, standing left, simpulum in right hand, scroll in left; S-C across fields. RIC I, 92 (Claudius). Kent-Hirmer 183 (this coin). Coinage from the woman of the Roman Empire is always popular, however one rarely encounters such lovely and well-preserved early bronzes as this example.
