Napoleon III silver 5 Francs 1856-A MS65 NGC, Paris mint, KM782.1, Gad-734, large "A." Obv. Bust of Napoleon III left. Rev. Crowned arms dividing denomination with date below. The strike is bold and the surfaces free of all but a few insignificant contact marks. Full shimmering luster covers both sides, with the reverse mostly white and the obverse displaying mottled gold and russet patina intermingled with the silvery luster. An exceptional example of this conditionally rare date, and type. None have been certified finer by NGC, or PCGS, with no pieces graded higher than MS65, for the entire type, by both of these grading services.
