Napoleon III gilt-copper Proof Uniface Essai Trial Strike Obverse and Reverse Gold Proof 50 Francs 1855, Maz-1606a. The separate obverse and reverse trials each have retrograde "50 F" on an otherwise blank reverse. The obverse is graded as PR65 NGC and the reverse PR64 NGC. Both are fully brilliant with deeply mirrored fields. A very rare issue of the obverse and reverse gilt trials and only the second we have seen.
