Louis XVI copper Pattern Specimen 3 Sols 1781-R SP64 Brown PCGS, by Guiquero, KME2, Lec-282. Obv. Crowned monogram L's with the date below. Rev. Rayed sun above three Fleur de Lis. Nicely defined, with reddish-brown toning mixed with considerable golden mint luster that leads one to think the "Brown" category woud be more appropriately "Red and Brown." The first copper example we have seen of this type pattern. The finest of only two examples certified by NGC and PCGS combined.
