Friedberg. Franz Heinrich Taler 1766 N-SR MS63 NGC, Nurnberg mint, KM72, Dav-2251. Rather remarkable in this incredible combination of condition and eye appeal, this superb taler features sharply rendered details in even the most intricate of places, along with a sheath of graphite patina that covers both sides. The semi-reflective fields contain only trivial instances of handling, save for one mark to the right of St. George, but a melange of glowing magenta, honeydew, and turquoise iridescence easily re-focuses the eye. Altogether sublime, and presently the finest certified example of this one-year type at either grading company. Sold with an old sales envelope.
