Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Neuenstein. Wolfgang Julius Taler 1697-GFN MS63 NGC, Nurnberg mint, KM31, Dav-6831. One-year type. Among the finest seen for this type, with coarse dentils at the edge that attractively frame the design, a well-detailed strike and attractive pastel-hued patina over both sides that sits atop fields that contain satiny luster. Presently the finest graded at NGC, we note the previous finest, an NGC-graded MS61, realizing a hammer price of $2,600 in a January 2015 Stack's Bowers auction.
