Pfalz-Electoral. Friedrich V Taler 1621 AU53 NGC, Heidelberg mint, KM72, Dav-7150, Herinek-11. Entirely bold, with steel-gray centers and a melange of copper, champagne, and teal coloration that resides in the obverse legends, framing the crowned Bohemian lion in splendid fashion. The reverse is more subtle in its appearance, but contains the same sublime hues as its counterpart. The central details are pleasingly strong, with even wear that has smoothed the higher points, while the surfaces as a whole are seemingly void of any noteworthy handling marks--a true feat for a coin of this size and age. Of note, this selection is currently the only certified representative of this singular type at NGC, and no examples have been certified by PCGS.
