Prussia. Friedrich Wilhelm IV Proof "Mining" Taler 1856-A PR65 NGC, Berlin mint, KM466. An attractively toned example of this Mining issue, featuring the head of Friedrich Wilhelm IV atop flashy-white fields and a dappling of golden-champagne patina. The reverse is quite complimentary, showing iridescent autumnal color that mottles the argent planchet; and while light hairlines are noted in the mirrors, they seemingly disappear into the texture of the surrounding patination. An exquisite example in every respect.
