Württemberg. Karl I "Ulm Cathedral" Proof 2 Taler (3-1/2 Gulden) 1869 PR61 NGC, Stuttgart mint, KM618, Dav-961, Jaeger-87. A just two-year type featuring the bust of Karl I and struck to commemorate the restoration of Ulm Cathedral right around the period of German Unification, this shimmering offering displays deeply mirrored fields with blazing champagne, magenta, and cerulean infused light that intensifies to violet and and cobalt on the reverse. While fully deserving of its proof status with die polish to wit, some minors marks do limit the grade.
