James I gold Unite ND (1611-12) XF Details (Removed from Jewelry) NGC, S-2619, Second coinage, Crowned fourth bust, mullet (star) mm. A pleasing example of this broad issue, featuring James I holding an orb and shouldering a scepter with crowned reverse arms. While the surfaces and rim are consistent with a coin that has been worn as jewelry, both sides present patinated golden color with russet tone set against the raised portions and the fields remain free of any noteworthy marks. A collectible type at all levels of presentation, and sure to engage as such.
