Great Britain
George I gold Coronation Medal 1714 UNC Details (Rev. Scratched) NGC, by John Croker, MI-424-9, Eimer-470. An exquisite deep-gold example of this masterfully-executed medal, from a reported mintage of only 330 pieces. George's portrait is close to cameo-worthy and essentially free of any distracting marks, whilst the reverse depicts George being crowned by Britannia (by show of welcoming the Hanoverian king to Britain). Scratches can be observed in the fields on both sides, but these have thankfully avoided marring the devices themselves, rendering them only a detail rather than a detraction. A handsome piece of British history.
