George II Crown 1735 AU58 NGC, KM575.1, S-3686, ESC-1663. Roses & Plumes reverse. This prime example seems to have been rather conservatively graded; there is far more depth to the young King's portrait than is usual, a testament to its high level of preservation, and the reverse appears Mint State, sharply struck devices layered with a rich tone imbued with luster. An example graded AU53 PCGS achieved a hammer price of $2,200 in our auction 3008, January 2010, and we expect even greater attention for this more highly-certified and premium specimen. An elite offering for the collector of British crowns.
