Great Britain
George II Crown 1743 MS65 PCGS, Royal mint, KM585.1, S-3688, ESC-124. Roses in angles. This magnificent coin proudly displays frosty original surfaces over crisp, pristine details, accentuated with a russet tone throughout the legends and a steel-blue iridescence in George's drapery and portrait. The eye-appeal present on this piece can only be achieved when an exceptionally-well struck coin is handled minimally and allowed to mature with age, developing a patina that must be seen to be believed. This is the single highest graded specimen by both PCGS and NGC, the only example approaching its quality being an MS64+ NGC sold at our auction 3061 in January 2018 for $16,800. Worthy of the most advanced collector of British crowns.
