George II gold 2 Guineas 1738 XF45 NGC, KM576, S-3667B. A popular denomination and difficult to obtain in higher grades, this XF certified piece is of considerably high quality for the type. The coin has clearly seen some circulation but the wear is even and shallow, and considering the routinely soft strike of this issue, almost all of the original detail is still evident. A gorgeous canary yellow, the surfaces are original and retain substantial luster particularly on the reverse which seems to glow with a misty iridescence. Boasting a premium eye-appeal for the certification, this is certainly a prize for the specialized collector.
