Great Britain
George III bronze "Lord Bathurst" Medal 1776 MS63 Brown NGC, BHM-203, Eimer 766. By J. Kirk. Henry Bathurst was the Lord Chancellor of Britain between 1771-78, and childhood friend of Admiral William Howe; a instrumental player and supporter in the writings of the Intolerables Acts (which gave rise to the Boston Port Act, the Boston Tea Party and the revolution), in 1777 Bathurst pushed for peace preliminaries between Britain and America in order to save Britain's colonies in the West Indies. Bearing the historically significant date of 1776 and of extreme rarity, this deeply-engraved, handsome and historically important medal is very, very seldom offered. The only example certified by NGC.
