Victoria Full Brockage Penny 1872 MS65 Brown PCGS, Royal mint, KM749.2, S-3954. Full Obverse Brockage Error. A popular and dramatic error variety, it is unusual to find brockage coins in this high level of certification; this attractive specimen shows smooth, lustrous brown surfaces with residual red luster flaring at the legends, the exergue, and highlighting Britannia's drapery. The error 'obverse' of this example is crisply incuse with a silky gleam, of a slightly wavy flan surface. A comparable example of this year graded MS63 Brown PCGS in our auction 3061 January 2018 achieved a hammer price of $2,800, and we expect this higher certified specimen to generate even greater interest.
