Charles III 8 Reales 1773 G-P AU Details (Obverse Graffiti) NGC, Guatemala City mint, KM36.1. The scarcer year for this two-year issue, the Guetemala mint being destroyed by a succession of earthquakes commending July 29, 1773 - consequently, coin production only took place over part of this calendar year, making it far rarer than the 1772 issue. This example retains an attractive level of detail, the reverse showing an appealing crescent of pearly iridescent patina over much of the edge; a light curl in the obverse field is commensurate with the given certification. Overall an inviting example of this scarce coin.
