Seljuqs of Rum. Kaykhusraw II (AH 634-644 / AD 1236-1245) gold Dinar AH 642 (AD 1244/5) AU55 ANACS, Konya mint, A-1215. Another feature offering of the type reaching nearly the pinnacle of perfection with only the slightest amount of wear, if any at all (though crisply struck per usual, some light weakness may give the illusion of wear). With numerous signs of die polish lines bearing witness to its supreme quality, it is somewhat curious that this piece has not achieved a higher grade. A light deposit is visible in the lower left (in image, upper right) corner of the obverse, and the bottom of the reverse may evince a die flaw, but neither of these factors carry the force to distract from this example's sublime beauty. Worthy of a premium bid.
