Naples. Carlo V gold Ducato ND (1516-54)-A MS61 NGC, Fr-834, MIR-131/1. 3.51 g. Obv. CAROLVS IIIII ROM IM, laureate bust right, with slight drapery; mintmaster's monogram to left. Rev. R ARAG VTRIVS, crowned imperial eagle, with crowned coat-of-arms on breast. An attractive, seldom encountered mint state example of the type, featuring good detail and a charming golden-orange tone enveloping throughout. Struck with the bust of Carlo IV (Charles), known better as Carlos I of Spain and Karl V of the Holy Roman Empire.
