Papal States. Innocent XII Piastra 1693 Anno III AU58 NGC, Rome mint, KM569. A singular issue that features the head of Innocent XII and Charity seated right, nursing an infant. The broad surfaces are handsomely patinated with steel-gray tones, with hints of champagne color that reside within the recesses on both sides. Relatively uncommon in the marketplace, especially so choice, this borderline Mint State offering retains pleasingly bold designs throughout; and most importantly, die cracking is minimal compared to other examples of this issue.
