Philip V gold Cob 2 Escudos 1704 MXo-L AU Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Mexico City mint, KM53.1, Cal-345. Struck on an oblong flan with the 'MXo' mintmark remaining clear and the final digit in the date, a '4', being present as well. The presence of the 'MXo' mintmark, which was changed to 'Mo' beginning in 1714, ultimately serves to determine the striking date of 1704 rather than 1714. Light cleaning determines the grade.
