Spanish Colony. Isabel II gold 4 Pesos 1861 MS62 NGC, KM144. A very difficult type to obtain in Mint State; this example is the highest graded by NGC. We sold the second highest, an MS61 NGC, at our auction 3032 in April 2014, where it realized $3,750 hammer. Boasting gorgeous cartwheel luster over well-struck lemon-gold surfaces, this offering would be very difficult to match; it belongs in a high-end colonial Spanish or Philippine collection.
