Paul I "Heavy" Rouble 1797 CM-ФЦ MS62 PCGS, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C101, Bit-18 (R), Sev-2045, Uzd-1265 (R). Obv. Crowned Russian letter P in cruciform and the date/. Rev. Ornate tablet with four line inscription. Well struck, with deep gray-russet toning and underlying luster. Moderate contact marks are noted under close examination. The 1797 silver issues of Paul I were heavier, for all denominations, 5 Kopecks-Rouble, as Paul I attempted to have the silver coinage conform to the Albertus Rouble standard. This change was unsuccessful and all of the silver coinage was changed back to the standard weights after 1797.
