British Colony gilt-copper Proof Restrike Token Penny 1807 (c. 1830-2) PR63 Cameo NGC, KM-Tn1.1a, Vice-2A. Though dated 1807, these restrikes were issued in the early 1830's. An exceptionally lustrous piece, this choice specimen offers an enchanting golden-orange tone and a high degree of brilliance. It commemorates the abolition of the slave trade by Great Britain. Exceedingly rare in gilt copper, with the only other example which this cataloger could locate being a specimen from early 2012, which realized a hammer of nearly $2,300.
