Republic gold "Single Shaft" Pond 1892 AU53 PCGS, KM10.2. A lovely example of the far rarer of the two 1892 pond varieties. So named the "single shaft" variety because of the single shaft on the continental wagon on the lower half of the coat-of-arms on the reverse. Also differentiated from the more common double shaft variety because it lacks the engraver's initials on the obverse. Light even rub, with no singularly distracting marks.
