Ferdinand VII gold 4 Escudos 1824 M-AI AU50 NGC, Madrid mint, KM484. Exceedingly rare and the final date for this denomination, NGC and PCGS combined show just two certified examples; one graded AU53 PCGS, and this coin. Despite some flattening to Ferdinand's bust commensurate with the assigned grade, this specimen shows rich coloring and an attractive coverage of silky luster, particularly to the reverse which appears a far higher grade than AU50. KM lists this coin at $5,600 in XF40. A prime representative of this rare denomination.
