British Colony. George V Proof 5 Cents 1926 PR63 NGC, KM36. A seldom seen and extremely attractive proof, seemingly unlisted by Pridmore for this year and thus worthy of further study. With brilliant white surfaces accentuated by the faint hairlines archetypal of polished dies, the crisp portrait of George V displays its full lush detail to a degree not seen on even contemporary British coins. KM lists no mintage figure for this type, only an arbitrary value of $2,800 in this grade; however, its rarity and eye appeal perhaps merits a re-reflection on the value of this specimen. Worthy of special attention.
