PAMPHYLIA. Perga. Ca. 221-188 BC. AR/AE fourrée tetradrachm (12.98 gm). NGC MS 5/5 - 4/5. Ancient forgery, in the names and types of Alexander III the Great of Macedon. Head of Heracles right, in lion skin headdress / Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter, KE in left field. Cf. Price 2939 (Perga issue of same dated CY 25, 197/6 BC). An intriguing and quite convincing contemporary forgery of the ubiquitous broad-flan Alexander issues of Asia Minor, detectable by virtue of the significantly reduced weight (an official tetradrachm should weigh 16-17 grams).
