Ladislaus V (1453-1457) Goldgulden ND VF35 NGC, 3.49g, Fr-16, CNH-171, Husz-637. +LADISLAVS • D • G • R • VnGARIE, quadripartite arms with those of old Hungary in the upper left quadrant, the Bohemian lion in the upper right, the Austrian cross-hatched shield in the lower left, and the Moravian eagle in the lower right / • S • LADISL | AVS • RЄX, St. Ladislaus standing facing wearing cloak and tunic with nimbus surrounding head, axe in right hand, globus cruciger in left, K-R (mintmaster's initials) across fields. An attractive, if lower grade, exemplar of the type with a well-centered strike and fully-legible legends. Huszar mentions that the mintmaster initials K-R may also have been used in the period between 1440 and 1452.
