Fatimid, al-'Adid (555-567h), base silver dirham, Misr (?) 562h, 1.52g (cf Nicol 2705 [561h]), fine to good fine and apparently unpublished. One of the last Fatimid silver issues from Egypt. Coins of this type have been variously called 'billon', 'low-grade silver' and 'silver-washed copper.' The appearance of the present specimen suggests that the last of these may be the most accurate, as it seems to retain much of its silver wash over a predominantly copper core.
