Superb iridescent tone, well centered and virtually as struck.

About this issue see Pliny (Nat. Hist. XXXV, 108): "(..) Nicomachus, the son and disciple of Aristiæus. He painted a Rape of Proserpina, a picture that was formerly in the Temple of Minerva in the Capitol, above the shrine of Juventas. Another picture of his was to be seen also in the Capitol, placed there by the imperator Plancus, a Victory soaring aloft a quadriga".
