Completion of the Panama Canal Medal, 1914. So-Called Dollar, HK-398. Bronze, 38.3mm. Allegorical female standing facing aboard ship passing through the Canal, flanked by Eastern and Western Hemispheres, rev. Seal of the Canal Zone, legend, stamped number "8786" below. The entire mintage of 50,000 of these medals was placed aboard the "S.S. Cristobal", which then became the first ship to transit the Panama Canal. About Uncirculated. Ex Evans Kerrigan Collection.
