KINGS of MACEDON. Demetrios I Poliorketes. 306-283 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 16.84 g, 11h). In the name and types of Alexander III. Miletos mint. Struck circa 295/4 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; monogram in circle in left field, labrys below throne. Newell 48 (unlisted dies); Price 2147 corr. (monogram); ADM I Series XIII. Good VF, toned, a couple light marks, lamination on obverse. Rare issue as a tetradrachm, only three in Pella (including the one coin listed in ADM and Newell), eight in CoinArchives (including the present coin).
