Head of Zeus right, wearing oak wreath / ΘΕΣΣΑ-ΛΩΝ, Athena Itonia advancing right, holding shield and preparing to hurl spear; ΠΕΤΡ-ΑΙΟV above, ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΣ in exergue. Petraios, strategos of the League, son of Themistogenes of Gyrton, was an ardent supporter of Julius Caesar (Caes., BC III, 35), and was executed by Brutus in 44 BC (Cic., Phil. 13. 33).
