Manuel Comnenus-Ducas. Despot of Thessalonica, 1230-1237. BI Trachy (30.7mm, 3.80 g, 6h). Type A, large module. Thessalonica mint. Half-length bust of St. Demetrius facing, holding spear and hilt of sword / Manuel, holding cruciform scepter and akakia, standing facing and being crowned by Christ Pantokrator; star to right. DOC 3a; SB 2177. Near VF, dark green to black patina, some cleaning scratches, minor porosity.
