England. George IV (1820-1830). Sovereign 1825. Fr. 377. AU. RRR. This was the second type of Sovereign produced in George IV's ten years reign. It is said that the King was displeased with Benedetto Pistrucci's portrait which featured on the early Sovereigns (1821-1825) and he was much happier when Pistrucci's heavy-jowled (laureate) royal image was replaced with Francis Chantrey's more flattering (bare headed) bust Near UNC.
