Seleukid Kings. Demetrios II Nikator, second reign, 129-126/5 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 16.27 g, 12 h), Ake-Ptolemais. Diademed head of Demetrios II to right, with full beard; around, fillet border. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ / ΘΕΟΥ - ΝΙΚΑΤΟΡΟΣ Zeus, draped from the waist, seated to left on high backed throne, holding Nike in his right hand and long scepter with his left; in exergue, two monograms. CSE 802. LSM 4. SC 2202. Attractively toned, with a superb portrait and very well struck on an oval flan. Extremely fine.
