Dirham (Copper, 29 mm, 10.54 g, 11 h), as governor, Sultan AH 596-615, /1199-1218, Mayyafariqin (=Diyarbakır), 596 H. Arabic marginal inscription, with date formula on either side of the bust. Draped bust of Prince facing, wearing a Byzantine-style crown. Rev. Central inscription of six lines with further inscription in the left, right and upper margins. Balog 342. Wilkes 908. A wonderfully sharp, attractive and well-struck example, with a fine, mid-brown patina. Very slightly double struck on both sides, otherwise, extremely fine.
