Akarnania. Leukas. Circa 465-450 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 8.60 g, 3 h). Λ Pegasos flying to right, with curved wings and wearing bridle. Rev. Head of Athena to left, her hair tied in a queue falling behind her neck, wearing crestless Corinthian helmet and necklace of pearls. BCD Akarnania 177. Calciati 15 (same dies). Very attractively toned, sharply struck and of unusually fine quality, rare thus. Obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
