Republic 8 Reales 1863 Ce-ML UNC Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Real de Catorce mint, KM377.1, DP-Ce01. A very scarce one year issue and highly sought after for the Cap and Ray collector. Dunigan and Parker state that this type, if encountered as uncirculated should be considered "very rare." NGC designates this piece as having surface hairlines which to this cataloguer seems to be a bit conservative of an observation as the hairlines are rather faint and almost insignificant. The strike is above average and the original luster is pronounce with a handsome charm in hand that is undeniable.
