PISIDIA. Selge. Circa 350-300 BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 1.06 g, 3 h). Facing gorgoneion with protruding tongue. Rev. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet; behind, astragalos. SNG Paris 1930-1934. SNG von Aulock 5266. Sharply struck and clear. Virtually as struck.
The date given here is that of lot 117 above, but there is a clear stylistic development in the emission of obols at Selge, indicating that they were struck over a long period of time. This coin falls in the middle of this development and was therefore certainly struck later than the previous lot.
