Constans, as Caesar, 333-337. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.27 g, 12 h), Constantinopolis, 336. FL CONSTANS NOB CAES Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constans to right. Rev. PRINCIPI IVVE-NTVTIS / CONS Constans, as prince of the youth, standing front in military attire, head to left, holding vexillum with his right hand and long scepter with his left; behind him, two signa. Depeyrot -, cf. 7/9 var. (4 specimens, but rosette-diademed). Gorny & Mosch 125 (2003), 587. Künker 71 (2002), 1458 (same dies). NAC 78 (2014), 1161. RIC -, cf. p. 719, 112A var. (rosette-diademed). Unpublished and apparently only the fourth known example. Light clipping and minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
