Steatite scarab. Egypt, 2nd Intermediate (Hyksos) Period, circa 1650-1550 BC. Large scarab with attractive details. Face inscribed with the name b'b' nX Sh'a ("Ankhsha") surrounded by swirling linear design. Pierced for suspension. A few minor chips and cracks, otherwise a well-preserved and finely modeled specimen. Dimensions: 24x17mm.
