ARAB-SASANIAN: Khusraw "lillâh" type, ca. 656-670?? AR drachm (2.78g), DA (Darabjird), YE35, A-A6, clipped down to the post-reform dirham weight, VF. The actual issuers and purpose of the "lillâh" series has never been determined. The calligraphic form of "lillâh" can be read as either Arabic "lillâh" or Pahlavi AP, the first two letters of the phrase APD that occurs on a significant percentage of the regular drachms of the Sasanian Khusro II (Göbl-211). It has been suggested that the mints and dates on the "lillâh" series are very tentative.
